Cell towers and communications structures are hard to look at up close, and climbing them is slow and risky. A drone gets a close, detailed view of antennas, mounts, connectors, and structural members from angles that are tough to reach from the ground or a climb. You get clear photos and video you can review, share with your team, and keep on file.

Skyvation is run by Nick Colasurdo, a Part 107 certified and insured remote pilot serving New Jersey and nearby states. We fly the tower, capture what you ask for, and hand back organized imagery you can actually use. We talk through your job first so the flight matches what you need to see.

One honest note up front: drone imagery is documentation, not a certified or engineering inspection. It does not replace a required tower climb or an engineer's structural review. Think of it as a fast, detailed visual record that supports your team's decisions and shows where a closer look may be worth it.

Tower and structure inspection imagery

We fly communications towers, monopoles, and similar structures to capture detailed visual records from safer angles. The goal is clear, well-lit imagery your team can review without sending someone up the tower first.

• Antenna, mount, and connector close-ups

• Structural members, welds, and bolts (visual condition)

• Lighting, signage, and obstruction marking

• Cabling and waveguide routing

• Roof, compound, and ground equipment views

• Before and after documentation

Photogrammetry and 3D digital twins

For mapping and planning, we capture overlapping high-resolution photos and stitch them into a measurable 3D model, often called a digital twin. It gives your team a to-scale reference for measurements, planning, and comparison over time. It is a real drone deliverable, but it is not engineering-certified and does not replace a required climb or an engineering inspection.

How a typical job goes

• We talk through your tower and what you need to see

• We check airspace and weather, and plan the flight

• We fly the structure and capture photos and video

• You get organized imagery, and a 3D model when requested

• We confirm anything that needs a closer or follow-up look

What this is, and what it is not

Drone work gives you fast, detailed visual documentation and measurable 3D models that support inspections, planning, and recordkeeping. It is not a certified or engineering inspection, and it does not replace a required tower climb or a structural engineer's review. Weather, airspace, and safety can move a schedule, and we will always tell you when that happens.

Cell tower drone questions

Does drone imagery replace a tower climb or engineering inspection?

No. Drone imagery is a detailed visual record captured from safer angles. It supports your team's review and can show where a closer look is worth it, but it is not a certified or engineering inspection and does not replace a required climb or a structural engineer's review.

What is a 3D digital twin, and is it accurate?

It is a measurable 3D model built from many overlapping high-resolution photos stitched together. It gives a to-scale reference you can use for measurements, planning, and comparison over time. It is a legitimate drone deliverable, but it is not engineering-certified and does not replace an engineering inspection.

What can change my schedule?

Weather, airspace restrictions, and safety can all move a flight date. We check airspace and conditions before we fly, and if something needs to shift, we will tell you and reschedule.
